DentaQuest Partnership Offers Free Continuing Education Courses to Support Dentists’ Return to Work

Online learning center features enriching content with courses in infection control, teledentistry, value-based care and other practice improvement topics

The DentaQuest Partnership for Oral Health Advancement is offering free online continuing education credit courses for dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and other dental care team members, including a COVID-19 Education Series designed to help educate in the areas of infection control and other best practices for the re-opening of dental clinics.

“We are committed to creating an effective and equitable healthcare system that results in improved oral health and well-being for everyone,” said Dr. Myechia Minter-Jordan, President and Chief Executive Officer of the DentaQuest Partnership for Oral Health Advancement and Catalyst Institute, Inc. “Through our continuing education work, we’re bringing together the nation’s leading oral health care experts and health system innovators to develop meaningful and pragmatic courses focused on oral health transformation."

The DentaQuest Partnership’s online learning center offers engaging resources – free of charge – for dentists and other healthcare providers looking to implement practice improvement initiatives and prevention-focused care. All courses are designed and delivered by expert faculty members, including clinicians, academics, data scientists, government and nonprofit leaders and oral health educators.

Recognized by the American Dental Association’s continuing education recognition program, the DentaQuest Partnership’s online courses are accepted by all U.S. professional licensing jurisdictions with continuing education requirements related to oral health care.

“With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we quickly recognized the growing need for practical tools to address new safety standards as well as more innovative care delivery modalities,” said Dr. Sean Boynes, Vice President of Health Care Improvement for the DentaQuest Partnership.

“We launched the COVID-19 Education Series to supplement our existing resources and offer credited continuing education courseware designed to help dental practices adapt and redesign care.” The COVID-19 Education Series currently includes the following courses:

  • Infection Control and Preventive Care During a National Health Care Crisis
  • Teledentistry: Providing Alternative Care During a Public Health Crisis
  • Infection Control: Questions & Answers About COVID-19
  • Saliva and COVID-19 Testing in Clinical Dental Practice
  • Best Practices for Infection Control in Dental Clinics

In addition to the COVID-19 courses, the online learning center includes 24 unique courses designed by expert faculty and DentaQuest Partnership leaders to educate clinicians on key practice improvement concepts including value-based oral health care, payment reform, social determinants of health, oral health disease management, interprofessional practice, silver diamine fluoride, opioids and dentistry, strategic scheduling and managing broken appointments, remineralization modalities and more.
