DentaQuest Appoints Two New Industry Leaders to Board of Directors
New directors are experts in care innovation and talent development
BOSTON--DentaQuest, a national leader in improving oral health, has appointed Dr. Sarah Dirks and Kathleen Betts to its board of directors. As an expanding enterprise, DentaQuest will utilize their expertise to inform smart growth that enhances responsiveness to members and providers, while also improving oral health.
“Dr. Sarah Dirks and Kathleen Betts are outstanding additions to our board,” said Steve Pollock, president and CEO of DentaQuest. “Dr. Dirks has received national recognition for innovative models that bring services to seniors facing complex medical issues. Kathleen Betts has distinguished herself for translating corporate objectives into actionable talent practices. We will look to their counsel as we expand our work to achieve our mission to improve the oral health of all.”
As Chief Human Resources Officer, Betts leads global talent strategy and organizational development for ModusLink, a supply chain and logistics company. She has held human resources leadership roles at a number of technology and health care organizations including Novell, Stratus Technologies, the University Hospital at Boston University Medical Center, and Magee Women’s Hospital of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Prior to her work in human resources, Betts was the director of social services and clinical social worker for an outpatient health affiliate of University of Massachusetts Medical School. She is a member of the Boston Club, the Human Resources Leadership Forum and the Society for Human Resources Management, and a director and chair of the Compensation Committee at Ellis Memorial in Boston. Betts holds an undergraduate degree with honors and an M.S.W. from Boston College.
Dr. Dirks is a national expert on senior’s oral health, and the CEO and owner of Geriatric Dental Group of South Texas, PA and SeniorHealth Dental. She was a faculty member at her alma mater, the University of Texas Health Science Center, for 18 years, ending her tenure at the university as Clinical Director of the Geriatric Dental Clinic.
Dr. Dirks is currently an adjunct faculty member at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA), member of the Texas Oral Health Coalition, a board member of the American Association of Community Dental Programs, a representative on the Healthy Aging Committee of the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors, and an industry expert on the Texas Oral Health Metrics Committee.
